I am a marriage and family therapist, registered with the CCPA (Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association/CCC) and specifically focus on the impact of childhood & live developmental trauma and attachment injuries on peoples’ lives. My focus is to help people live life to the full degree possible. Life can throw us some unexpected curve balls that impact us in ways we did not foresee coming. Such incidents may have taken place within the context of your own family, intimate or romantic relationships, workplace or learning environments, church or religious affiliated organizations or even whilst driving or going for a run. Often as a result we may experience a change in the way we see the world, the people around us and even ourselves. It can for sure through us off balance and our daily life functioning, our work, social and personal areas of life. The integrative therapy approach I use focuses on reducing or eliminating the impact of trauma and stresses and seeks to restore life balance. I work with individuals, as well as joined sessions for both couples and (adult only) families. It is often difficult to reach out and many people often try to minimize the impact, thinking it’s probably not so bad, or try hard at ignoring it. Reaching out for a free initial phone consultation (10-15 min) may be able to clarify the kind of help you are looking for. I look forward to connecting with you

It is an honor to be part of the healing process and to help you regain your life as you were meant to live it, with reduced influences of past trauma and a strengthened resiliency. I highly value caring, compassion, connection, as well as competency in counseling. I am respectful, and I am deeply concerned about what matters to you right now.

I have lived and worked in four countries during the past fifteen years. I received my Bachelor of Communication Disorders at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

When I worked as a Speech Therapist, I was always drawn to learning more about the psychological elements of voice disorders and stuttering. Later I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University in Canada. I enjoy specializing in up-to-date trauma therapy modalities, like Internal Family Systems Therapy, Trauma Regulation and Integration Process, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.

I work with a strength based biopsychosocial lens and aim to be culturally sensitive. Depending on your presenting situation, I utilize several evidence-based modalities to best support you.

One of my favorite things to do in my down time is spending time in the beautiful nature of the West-Coast with my children and dog. I love to take my kayak out and explore.
